How I Use Notion to Organize My Entire Life and Business

Want to peek behind the curtain of my business operations? You're in for a treat! I've just created a detailed video showcasing how I use Notion to manage everything. Don't miss the final segment where I share the crucial mindset shift that helped me unlock “Notion Zen Master Mode”. 😂

1. Access the Notion Starter Pack

  • Navigate to the library, search for "Notion," and find the "Notion Starter Pack."

  • Duplicate the template to your own Notion account (the free version is sufficient).

2. Follow the videos tutorials and input your information into the databases

The video above is the introductory video from Caroline’s tutorials accompanying the Notion Starter Pack.

Caroline’s video tutorials help you get the template set up with your business and life information into the following databases:

  • Life Areas Database

  • Goal Tracker Database

  • Projects Database

NOTE FOR 8:10 MINUTES INTO THE VIDEO: The extra box that Caroline points out is actually no longer an issue in the current version of Notion.

3. The “Daily Dashboard” is where you will handle your day to day operations

The Daily Dashboard

  • Familiarize yourself with the Daily Dashboard, which aggregates all your tasks and information for the day.

  • Record your daily activity in the “Habit Tracking” card. This will feed into your “Review System”.

  • Keep all of your tasks in ONE database - the “Task Manager” database. This will ensure that you never lose track of what you need to do. All the task databases in the Notion Starter Pack are all actually the same, single database.

4. At the end of each week review your progress

Weekly Review & Planning Template

  • HABITS: See a roll-up of all your daily habits and activity from your daily tracking.

  • TASKS: See all the tasks you completed from the past week.

  • AREAS OF LIFE: Review each area of your life and give yourself a rating.

  • GOALS: Update your progress on each of your goals.

  • PROJECTS: Review your projects and update the status and steps for each one.

  • CONTENT PLANNING: Complete your content planning for the week.

  • SCHEDULE UPCOMING TASKS: Schedule your upcoming tasks on your calendar.

  • TRACK STATISTICS: Track your growth statistics for Youtube, Email, website traffic, etc.

5. Tweak the template to make it feel GOOD for YOU

Helpful Tips

  • Avoid overcomplicating your dashboard with unnecessary information; keep it streamlined for efficiency.

  • Be mindful of the potential for attachment to disorganization; strive for clarity and structure in your system. This may require an identity shift.
